Online image converter and compressor — HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, ICO

Our free image converter transforms photos between JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP and ICO formats and can also compress and resize them. Upload one or more files at once, choose the target format and — if you wish — set the quality and maximum width. We also support HEIC and HEIF files from iPhone, which you can convert to a standard JPG that opens on any device. Everything happens locally in your browser, so your photos never leave your computer or phone.

Image compression — smaller size, same quality

Oversized images slow down websites and clog email inboxes. With the quality slider (active for JPG and WebP) and the resize option you can reduce file size by dozens of percent while keeping good visual quality. For each image we show the original size, the converted size, and the savings percentage — and you can download the results one by one or all at once.

Frequently asked questions

Is the image converter free and safe?
Yes, completely free and unlimited. Conversion and compression happen entirely in your browser — images are never sent to any server, so no one but you can see them.
How do I convert an iPhone HEIC photo to JPG?
Upload the HEIC or HEIF file (drag it in or browse from disk), set the target format to JPG and click `Download`. The iPhone file will be decoded and saved as a standard JPG that opens on any device.
What is the difference between WebP, JPG and PNG?
WebP is a modern format that produces significantly smaller files than JPG at similar quality, and unlike JPG it supports transparency. PNG retains full quality and transparency but results in the largest file sizes. JPG is the safe, universal choice for photos. AVIF is the newest of these formats — at similar quality it produces even smaller files than WebP. We also export BMP (lossless, uncompressed) and ICO for icons and favicons.
How do I reduce image file size without noticeable quality loss?
Choose JPG or WebP and set the quality slider to around 0.7–0.8 — the difference is practically invisible while the file becomes much lighter. You can also set a maximum width to scale down large images while preserving their aspect ratio.
