How do I calculate VAT from a net amount?

Multiply the net amount by the VAT rate. At 23% VAT on a net of 1000 PLN: VAT = 1000 × 0.23 = 230 PLN, gross = 1230 PLN. Our calculator does this automatically — just enter the amount and select the rate.

How do I extract VAT from a gross amount?

Divide the gross amount by (1 + rate). At 23%: net = gross / 1.23. Example: 1230 PLN gross ÷ 1.23 = 1000 PLN net. Use the `Amount is GROSS` mode in the calculator.

Which VAT rates does the calculator support?

The calculator knows the rates for many countries — just pick a country from the list. The standard rate is 23% in Poland (plus 8%, 5% and 0%), 19% in Germany (and 7%), 20% in France, 21% in Spain, 20% in the United Kingdom, and as high as 25% in Scandinavia (Norway, Denmark) or 25.5% in Finland.
